Terrorists will be dragged out of Iraq in shame: Larijani

TEHRAN – Iranian Parliament Speaker Ali Larijani has expressed optimism about the prospects of Iraq, saying he believes that terrorists will have no place in the future of the country.
Terrorists will be out of Iraq and Syria as they are conducting tales of disappointment and shame, Larijani said in an interview with Lebanon’s Al-Ahd news website. He said the reasons behind the promotion of ISIL terrorist organization were some weaknesses in armed and intelligence forces and the existence of political and sectarian differences among Shias, Sunnis, and Kurds which were exploited by the enemies
“In general”, he said, “I feel today the various Iraqi currents have reached unity and solidarity and have became convinced of the need to enhance the capacity of the armed forces, and not to promote differences.”
This, he hoped, will bring stability to the future of Iraq and its government.
Larijani also congratulated Lebanon’s resistance and Hezbollah’s recent victories against ISIL terrorists.
This victory is important particularly as it comes after that [Hezbollah] defeated the Israelis in a number of wars, he said.
It also proves that whenever Muslims relied on themselves and stood united in jihad against Israel, the enemy turns out to be nothing but an empty bubble, Larijani added.
The defeats suffered by the Zionist entity made it realize that it is not the biggest power in the region and it deterred the regime from pursuing further adventures in the region, he noted.
Larijani warned that Muslims today are suffering from terror groups that claim to be Muslims too but are in fact acting as the “mercenaries” of the West.
Hezbollah is engaged in a real struggle against terrorists and will emerge victories in its battle, he added.
Larijani regretted that at the moment, there are some regional countries that provide ISIL terrorists with training and equipment, “especially after the recent defeats suffered by the Daesh group [ISIL] in Iraq, Syria.”
He said those countries do so in order “to get more of political gains.”
